Neighborhood Small Area Plans Recommendations

Two public information meetings were held in April on the first two Small Area Plans for the City.  At these meetings, City planning staff presented the recommendations for these plans.  The City Council and City Planning Commission will be studying these proposals.  Adoption of the plans and any associated ordinances would come after future public hearings.  See link below for recommendations and presentations.

Area 6 addresses the Route 1 / Fall Hill / Princess Anne corridors and adjacent neighborhoods, including Normandy Village, Riverside, and Fall Hill between the Rappahannock Canal and the Rappahannock River.

Area 3 addresses the Route 3 corridor between I-95 and Westwood Drive including the neighborhoods of Idlewild, Altoona, and Great Oaks.

Work began on these plans for Areas 3 and 6 in the third quarter of 2016, when the City hired the consulting firm Streetsense to develop these planning visions.
