Farmer's Market

The Fredericksburg Farmer’s Market is an open air market which sells goods which are home grown, homemade or home baked by farmers.  Year round sales are permitted at the Farmer’s Market (located around Hurkamp Park - the Prince Edward and George Street sides) Monday-Saturday: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday: 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Most vendors participate during the growing season of April thru October.  Saturdays mornings are our most popular and busiest time.

Products sold include vegetables, fruits, meats, cheeses, breads, baked goods (ingredients must be grown or processed by the farmer), plants, flowers, dried flowers, herbs, Christmas items (during the season) and more. This is a general list. Items vary depending on the vendor’s availability and seasonal influences.

Directions
From I-95, exit Route 3 east. Go approximately 2 miles to downtown Fredericksburg. (Note: Through the city, Route 3 is called William Street.) Market is located at intersection of William Street and Prince Edward Street around the outside perimeter of Hurkamp Park.

What’s new in 2013?

  • We’ve had some minor rule changes:

  • A Market Manager will be at the 2013 Farmer’s Market during normal business hours, if you have questions or concerns.

  • We’ve partnered with other Markets in our region to promote our mission of Buy Fresh, Buy Local.

  • We are proud to announce that we will be continuing to accept EBT/SNAP (food stamps) at the Market this year, thanks to a grant from the Virginia Department of Social Services.

  • Check out the Regional Farmers Market website at www.thefarmersmarket.co (that’s .co, not .com). We will have information on Farmers Markets in Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, and King George, which will include helpful tips, produce schedules, spotlights on vendors, and maybe even some yummy recipes!

We look forward to another successful market season.
