The primary function of the Department is to promote the development of the local travel industry by increasing the amount of tourism related business and activities. The goal of the Department is to enhance the economic health of the community through the generation of tourism revenues, a significant portion of which returns directly to the City government.
The University of Mary Washington Small Business Development Center is offering a seminar of interest to area retailers and restaurateurs on September 15, 2010, 8:00-9:45 a.m. at the Regional Chamber of Commerce, entitled "How to Remain Relevant in a Changed Economy".
