Fredericksburg Constitutional Officers

Constitutional Officers are positions created by the Constitution of Virginia. The duties for each office are prescribed in The Code of Virginia. They perform governmental duties at the local level and the local governing body must fund a portion of each budget.

Clerk of the Circuit Court - Sharron S. Mitchell November 2011
Commissioner of the Revenue - Lois B. Jacob November 2009
Commonwealth's Attorney - LaBravia J. Jenkins November 2009
Sheriff - Paul W. Higgs November 2009
Treasurer - G. M. (Jim) Haney November 2009

Each is an elected position and not appointed by the City Manager or Council, with all but the clerk having a four year term of office. The clerk has an eight year term.
