Board of Social Services
Board:
Code of Virginia Sec. 63.1-43 et seq.
City Council Code, Section 10-71 through 10-73 as amended
Purpose:
The purpose of the Board of Social Services are to:
- Set forth the Code of Virginia, §63.1-38 et seq., regarding local boards and public welfare.
- Administer the operation of the city’s department of social services, which shall include the authority and power to approve financial grants associated with the department’s operations.
Membership:
Six members, city residency required. One member shall be a Council Member. Members shall be appointed for four (4) years, expiring on June 30th.
Meetings:
Meetings are 2nd Friday of each month, 8:00 a.m., at Bass-Ellison Building conference room located at 608 Jackson Street, Suite 100, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
