Mission

The Planning and Community Development department is responsible for overseeing and implementing the goals of the City’s Comprehensive Plan and enforcement of the Zoning Ordinance to ensure that the land use of the City is in accordance with the wishes of the community and rights of property owners as prescribed by law.  Staff supports the City Council, Planning Commission, Architectural Review Board, Board of Zoning Appeals, Cable Commission and Wetlands Board.  For an alphabetical listing of all City Boards and Commissions, please click here.  In addition, staff administers the City’s Community Development Block Grant Program.
