Circuit Courthouse Complex

The City Council must decide the site of the new, combined courthouse for the city's three city courts and related offices. The Council has established an informal deadline of December 31 [2007] for selecting the preferred site. The 1852 Circuit Courthouse, while an architectural jewel of the historic district, is obsolete by modem court standards of security and separation, and must be replaced on another site with a modem courthouse.
