Heritage 5 Miler

The Fredericksburg Fallen Heroes are hosting the 41st Annual Heritage Festival 5 Mile Race, in conjunction with Fredericksburg Area Running Club. LINK TO SIGN UP: https://runsignup.com/Race/VA/Fredericksburg/HeritageFestival5Miler Race Day Registration: July 4th: 6:30 a.m. - 7:15 a.m. at the Fredericksburg Visitors Center at 706 Caroline Street. Please allow enough time to complete your registration process. Race will start approximately 2.5 blocks from location. You may register the same day of the event, but please arrive early to complete full registration. Starting location: Caroline Street between Lafayette and Frederick Street. All proceeds go towards assisting local Veterans and First Responders in the local and surrounding areas of Fredericksburg.

Children's Roll 'N' Stroll

Families are encouraged to participate in this free, fun event! Arrive at the VRE parking lot at the corner of Caroline and Frederick Streets by 10:30am on Sunday, July 4. Parade begins at 11:00am. Prizes will be awarded for: Best Adult Costume, Best Child Costume, Best Decorated Bike, and Best Decorated Wagon/Stroller. Judging begins at 10:45am and winners will be announced at 10:55am. If you are not participating in the parade, line the parade route as a spectator! The parade will follow Caroline Street from the train station to Market Square. Parents are responsible for the safety and behavior of their children. Well behaved dogs on a leash are welcome. No floats or motors, please.  Hosted by the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank and Fredericksburg Parks, Recreation and Events.

Fourth of July at Ferry Farm

Advance purchase of parking and event admission pass is strongly encouraged. Timed tickets are to ensure the availability of parking for visitors. The average time of a visit is around 2 hours to participate in all the activities. However, only one parking pass needs to be purchased. 

Celebrate Independence Day at George Washington’s boyhood home! Tour the Washington house, learn about archaeology at Ferry Farm, enjoy a patriotic flag retirement ceremony, interact with historic reenactors, listen to festive music, view living history demonstrations and theatre performances, make crafts, play games, and enjoy other activities for the whole family.

  • $5.00 per car for a combined parking and event admission pass.
  • No buses or large passenger vans.
  • Event is rain or shine. Parking and event admission pass is not refundable.
  • Parking only available at Ferry Farm this year to help insure visitor health and safety.
  • No shuttles or parking at the Eagles lodge.

Public Reading of the Declaration of Independence

Join us on the steps of the Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop as we celebrate our independence. There will be three live readings of the Declaration of Independence at 11 AM, 1 PM, and 3PM. This event is open and free to the public.

City of Fredericksburg's 4th of July Spectacular Fireworks

The most SPECTACULAR 4th of July fireworks are happening at the FredNats Ballpark this Sunday, presented by the City of Fredericksburg! This year's 4th of July Spectacular kicks off at 9 pm at FredNats Ballpark following the FredNats game at 4:05 pm. After the game all fans will exit the ballpark. No fans will be permitted inside the ballpark as the entire stadium is a fallout zone and therefore unsafe for viewing. Fans will watch from the surrounding parking lots for up to one mile away. Superhits 95.9 and Thunder 104.5 will be playing the most patriotic music across their airwaves for the entirety of the show so make sure to tune in! Fans interested in attending Sunday's Salute to Service game can visit the box office or buy tickets online at FredNats.com/tickets.

  • 4th of July Spectacular Fireworks Show kicks off at approximately 9 pm from the FredNats Ballpark following the FredNats game at 4:05 pm.  After the game all fans must exit the ballpark, but many are likely to remain parked in the stadium and Expo parking areas.
  • The public is invited to watch the free fireworks display from surrounding area in the Central Park area, and throughout much of the City. Tune in to stations 95.9 and 104.5 for patriotic music during the show.

Stafford County July 4th Spectacular & Fireworks

John Lee Pratt Memorial Park, Gates open at 6pm

Join us for a concert on Celebration Stage by the Rappahannock Pops Orchestra, food trucks and fireworks! Free entrance and free limited parking. Prohibited items: tents in concert area, sparklers or other fireworks, grills, and alcohol. Well behaved pets on leash are permitted.

  • No tents allowed

  • No sparklers
  • No grills
  • Dogs must be on a leash
