The City of Fredericksburg first committed to climate action by joining the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement in 2012. In 2019, the City passed a 100% Renewable Energy Resolution to further its commitment to environmental sustainability.
100% Renewable Energy Goal
The City of Fredericksburg has adopted a 100% renewable energy goal for powering:
- municipal operations by 2035;
- community-wide by 2050.
The resolution was passed by City Council on December 10, 2019.
