Anonymous Tips Onlinetip 411

Anyone can submit an anonymous tip to the Police Department online. Please be as specific and detailed as possible when submitting a tip. The tips page is NOT monitored 24 hours a day.

Anonymous Tip App for Smart Phones

The Fredericksburg Police Department has a free smart phone app that allows citizens to send anonymous tips directly to the Department. The FPD Tip app is available for iPhone and Android smart phones. To download the app, search "FPD Tip" in the Google Play Store or iTunes App Store.

Texting Anonymous Tips

Citizens can make anonymous tips by sending a text to "847-411" and texting "FPDtip" and their message to the number.

Remember, for situations that require immediate action, please call the Police Department directly at 540-373-3122 or 911 in the event of an emergency.

TIP-411 for Schools

Anonymous tips are helpful in policing and preventing activities in schools such as bullying, assault, and drug use. Students in the Fredericksburg City Public Schools are encouraged to provide tips to the Police Department via text message through the web-based service TIP-411. 

Students can text tips to TIP-411 (847-411). Their text message should include your school's key word to identify the school where the problem is occurring.

School key words are:

  • JMHS for James Monroe High School
  • WGMS for Walker Grant Middle School
  • LUES for Lafayette Upper Elementary School
  • OWGS for Original Walker Grant School
  • HMES for Hugh Mercer Elementary School
