Beginning March 21, 2014, Spotsylvania County and the City of Fredericksburg will temporarily stop adding ammonia during the water treatment disinfection process. The purpose of this temporary change in process, which occurs annually, is to help ensure a high level of disinfection in our community’s network of water mains. During this period, you may notice a change in the taste or odor of your tap water. The County and City will return to using ammonia on April 25, 2014.
Flushing will occur in the County and City on or about March 24, 2014 and continue through May 2014. Crews will work each day, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays), from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
