Early Voting Begins - Early Voting for the June 2023 Dual Primary begins on May 5th, 2023. Voting will take place in the Office of Voter Registration and Elections, 601 Caroline Street
Suite 500, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM-4:30 PM. Saturday Voting will take place June 10th and 17th from 9AM-5PM. Democrats will choose a candidate for the General Assembly State Senate District 27. Republicans will choose a candidate for House of Delegates District 65 and State Senate District 27. Elections for Fredericksburg Mayor, City Council At-Large (2), and School Board At-Large (2) seats will be held on November 7, 2023. This is the first year that the election for these offices will be held in November, as opposed to May. The General Assembly adopted legislation moving all local elections from May to November in 2021. In addition, the City will hold a special election for Sheriff this November, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Paul Higgs.
