[ARCHIVED] Convertion of the flow of traffic on the 200 block of Canal Street during the week of 3/20

Immediately prior to the conversion of traffic flow, staff will perform the following work:

? Remove the double yellow line and stop bar on Canal Street at Princess Anne Street

? Install new traffic control signage to designate the one-way flow of traffic on the 200 block of Canal Street. This will include Do Not Enter and Wrong Way signage to notify drivers who may attempt to enter Canal Street from Caroline Street.

? Install a new crosswalk across Princess Anne Street with associated crosswalk warning signage to alert motorists.

For safety purposes, the traffic signal at Princess Anne and Canal streets will remain in full operation for a period of two weeks after the 200 block is converted to one-way. After the two week period, a new stop sign will be installed on Canal Street on the west side of Princess Anne Street and the signal will be placed into flash mode for a period of one week. After the one-week period, the signal will be switched off.
