Voting-Notice-May-19

Tomorrow, May 19 Election Day voting will take place only at Dorothy Hart Community Center located at 408 Canal Street. The only persons who should appear are eligible voters who have not yet received a ballot and wish to vote. Please wear a mask and follow the Officers of Elections instructions. If you have an absentee ballot already, you must drop it off in the red ballot drop box in front of 601 Caroline Street before 7 p.m. on May 19. 

May 1 update:  Due to COVID-19 all May 19, 2020 Election Day voting will take place at the Dorothy Hart Community Center located at 408 Canal St. Fredericksburg, VA 22401. No other Polling Place in the City of Fredericksburg will be open. Voters will be able to cast a ballot while remaining inside their vehicle. We continue to emphasize that the safest way to vote is to vote at home. Absentee ballot requests must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on May 12, 2020. All voters who have received their ballots must return them to the Voter Registrar’s office by 7:00 p.m. on May 19, 2020. April 24 update:  Gov. Northam announced Friday, April 24 that he will push back the state’s municipal elections from May 5 to May 19, after the legislature rejected his plan to postpone them until November. Absentee voting by mail is strongly encouraged.  See more details on the Voter Registar’s webpage

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic all Fredericksburg voters may vote at home, via an absentee ballot. All voters qualify to vote at home, but all must apply by completing an application. If you want a ballot you should apply now. Do not wait. Apply online here: Voter Registrar’s webpage. If you do not have internet access, please call 540-372-1030 and request an application be mailed to you.

Absentee applications completed online are automatically submitted. All other applications may be returned via fax, email, or mail delivery. Voter Registrar’s Office contact information: email: vote@vote.fredericksburgva.gov or call: 540-372-1030.
