The City of Fredericksburg, the University of Mary Washington, and the James Farmer Multicultural Center request the pleasure of your company at a ceremony to commemorate the Congress of Racial Equality’s 1961 Freedom Riders’ first stop in Fredericksburg, Virginia with the unveiling of a new historic highway marker on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, 2:00 p.m. Ceremony will be held adjacent to the Fredericksburg Fire Station #1 in the 600 block of Princess Anne Street, which is the site of the former Fredericksburg bus depot.
